Is Noirbnb a Black-Only Community?
Our community is open to all! We embrace the vibrant and diverse cultures of all people around the world. In every corner of the world the influence of the African diaspora can be felt, from music to fashion to food. Its this sharing of culture that makes travel such an important part of who we are, and how we get along as a society. At Noirbnb our goal is to tell different stories and appeal to a different “default” than is currently offered in the market.
Noirbnb does not tolerate discrimination in our community. We believe a community that is safe and welcoming should appear as such, that’s why profile photos are prominently displayed for all of our users. The Noirbnb verification process ensures that only members of the community who are vetted can host or rent a space. Any host cancellation automatically triggers our “Good Community” protocols. We actively monitor and review community feedback, so we encourage users to use our robust reporting tools to help us stay vigilant against harassment and discrimination.
Noirbnb is part of the solution. We were created not to separate but to provide a premium alternative that intentionally caters to the global community of travelers of color. We may not be able to end discrimination but we can provide a solution for people. And that’s ultimately what our company is about: people.
To verify guests we require a valid government-issued ID, an active and seasoned social media handle, and our team as as well as our background software cross-references all of the information provided to ensure our guests and hosts are who they say they are.
