4 Amazing Places to Travel to in 2021

In 2020, there was a near-total shutdown of international flights due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

 

Many people have been unable to travel because of travel restrictions that have closed the borders of many countries.

 

So, what does that mean for travel in 2021 and beyond? 

 

Luckily, things are looking up. 

 

The global vaccine rollout resulted in more and more countries beginning to open their doors to the world. 

 

However, they’re doing it with health and safety protocols in place.

 

Airlines, hotels, resorts, and of course Bnbs are doing their part to implement procedures that allow people to travel safely and confidently.

 

Which bodes well for Americans who want to explore the world in 2021.

 

So, assuming things do return to something like normal, there’s just one question: where to travel first?

 

Here’s a list of four amazing destinations we hope you’ll plan to include in your 2021 plans.

 

(Note: Some of the below destinations may be affected by the coronavirus outbreak. Check with the CDC and the U.S. Department of State before traveling).

 

Italy

Italy, a beautiful European country with a long Mediterranean coastline. 

 

It’s famously known for its incredible cuisine, especially pizza, as well as it’s historical heritage dating back to Roman Empire. 

 

The capital city, Rome, which is home to the Vatican which is the headquarters of the Catholic Church.

 

If you’d like to explore the rich history of Italy, you should visit Verona Arena. A Roman amphitheater that was constructed 2,000 years ago.

 

Today, visitors are still able to attend musical performances at the arena, bringing Italian culture and history to life.

 

You can visit other cities like Florence, known for its architecture, culture, as well as Renaissance masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s "David" and Brunelleschi's Duomo.

 

If you have time in your schedule, don’t forget Venice, the romantic city of canals,  or Milan, known as Italy’s heart of fashion.

 

Other places you can visit are;

 

Gran Paradiso National Park, nestled in the Graian Alps with stunning mountains and incredible hiking opportunities. 

 

Seasonal activities include summer hiking, photographing flowers during spring, spotting the foliage in autumn, and snowshoeing or cross-country skiing in winter 

 

The Island of Elba, famously known as the place Napoleon was exiled to in 1814. 

 

Napoleon’s winter and summer homes still stand, and they are available for the public to tour.

 

Zanzibar

Zanzibar is an island also known as Unguja. 

 

It is located 25 kilometers from the mainland coast at Dar es Salaam. 

 

The people of Zanzibar have a blend of Arabic, African, Indian, European heritages. Creating a unique cultural mix on the island, rarely seen elsewhere. 

 

It’s famously known for its idyllic beaches, balmy weather & warm tropical waters.

 

The beaches have clear warm waters, coral reefs, and rich marine diversity. You can sail on a dhow, go swimming with dolphins, or snorkeling…

You can visit Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. It’s a Swahili coastal trading town with mosques and winding lanes created around the 1830s.

 

Currently, The Old Fort is a cultural center, a stone amphitheater, and has underground aqueducts that fed hot water to the late-19th-century Hamamni Persian Baths.  

 

Also, you can visit the Swahili villages like Jambiani on the Island. 

 

It’s advisable to take an organized village tour with a guide to get an insight into daily life whilst contributing to the local economy.

 

During the village tour, you will visit the seaweed farms, fishermen, local women’s groups, and herbalists.

 

The best time to visit Zanzibar is during spring from June to October and December to February when it’s hot and dry.

 

Mexico

Mexico is one of the world’s most popular vacation destinations. 

 

Whether you want to relax along the white sandy beaches, or explore and discover Mother Nature, Mexico has it all.

 

It boasts vacation spots that appeal to all sorts of visitors.

Mexico is filled with breathtaking shores.

 

The beaches are characterized by brilliantly blue water, white sand, and framed by green, swaying palm trees.

You can visit the Mexico capital city to tour the Aztec ruins at the Templo Mayor and see the most important structure of ancient Tenochtitlan. 

 

Or you can visit the large round pyramid in Cuicuilco, which was buried by the lava flow of the Xitle volcano more than 2,000 years ago.

 

Mexico offers something for every sort of traveler.


 

Thailand

Thailand’s capital city is Bangkok and it’s the gateway to many other parts of Thailand. 

 

Thailand is famously known for its tropical beaches, rich history of ancient ruins, opulent palaces, and ornate temples displaying figures of Buddha.

 

Are you interested in exploring the town area, or are you in search of museums or new adventures? 

 

You’ll have numerous activities available, so the adventures are sure to come.

 

You can explore ancient sites like Wat Traimit, the Temple of the Golden Buddha, a 3.5-meter Buddha cast from 5.5 tons of solid gold, and a grand palace built in 1782.

 

The grand palace was the royal residence for generations. 

 

It’s still used for important ceremonies like accommodating heads of state.

 

If you like to shop you can visit Chatuchak Market the largest in the world.

 

It has over 15,000 stalls offering just about anything you can dream up, with souvenirs at a reasonable price too!

 

This is a great place to learn about Thai life and mingle with the locals. It’s advisable to arrive early and spend the whole day exploring.

 

Are you a beach person?

 

Thailand beaches are famously known for their white sand and crystal clear waters speckled with a handful of resorts.

There are numerous activities you can do like surfing, snorkeling, sail on a boat, or go swimming with dolphins.

 

The best time to visit Thailand between November and April. The temperature is around 32 and 36 degrees, with up to nine hours of sunshine a day.

  • Kata Beach – Phuket.
