IT Operations Engineer (REMOTE)

Noirbnb is a global travel community that provides experiences and events with a focus on including and celebrating travelers of color. Our accommodations take our guests all around the world to popular destinations and events inspired by the African diaspora. Noirbnb was born in October 2015 after our co-founder, Stefan’s experience while booking a stay in Atlanta. We realized Stef’s experience was not an isolated case and more importantly, that there was an opportunity to create a better, safer experience for travelers of color.

Overview


Noirbnb is seeking an IT Operations Engineer.This position is responsible for maintaining Noirbnb resources, systems and endpoints that comprise our webapp platform and our mobile application platform. You will:

  • Utilize an effective and adaptive communication style in multiple messaging venues (email, phone, in-person), incorporating critical listening skills, empathy and an enthusiastic problem-solving approach
  • Provide technical assistance during installs and upgrades of in-house and 3rd party software
  • Manage user and host accounts which includes creating, editing and troubleshooting of access rights
  • Utilize enterprise desktop management tools for operating system and software deployments
  • Identify and capture customer requirements and requests to feed into product development.
  • Install, service and support the enterprise desktop and other technical equipment/systems
  • Participate in a collaborative setting to perform IT strategic initiatives, such as enterprise-wide software and hardware upgrades, new product and feature rollouts and security event response
  • Assist the Executive Team with trend analysis and reporting

    Skills Needed


  • 3+ years of IT experience with at least 2 years experience specific to collaborative technology
  • Experience integrating Skype for Business with other unified communications systems (chat, media, video, voice)
  • Excellent written, organizational, and verbal communication skills as well as collaboration skills. Able to convey technical concepts to individuals without prior technical knowledge or understanding of topics.
  • Comfortable on the command line in Linux and with MySQL environments
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience with SSL Certificates
  • Experience with Asana, Slack, and Zoom
